PCPS - An Excellent Health Promoting School

  School Awarded ‘Excellent’ in Health Promotion!
 Port Charlotte Primary School was awarded ‘Excellent’ in their health accreditation visit in October 2007.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Several examples of good practice were noted, including:

     ˛  School Council

 

˛  Awards at assemblies

 

˛  School Code of Conduct

 

˛  Healthy Tuck Shop

 

˛  Water cooler

 

˛  Lunch Club visit

 

˛  JRSO – ‘Park Safe’ Campaign

 

˛  Playground games and activities

 

 

 

The report recognised that:

 

Port Charlotte Primary School is an excellent example of a Health Promoting School, which has been very creative in involving all pupils and staff to promote their health and well-being’.

  Furthermore, the impact of the school on the local community was of a high standard, as:

 

‘The school has excellent links with parents and the local community, and the Head Teacher recognizes the positive benefits which arise from this for everyone involved’.

  The impact of health promotion at Port Charlotte Primary School is where ‘every opportunity is taken to boost the confidence and self-esteem of pupils, and it is obvious that they, and members of staff, take great pride in their school.’
