Christmas 2007 at Port Charlotte Primary School

A CHRISTMAS CRACKER!!!

Members of our community flocked to the school for our Christmas production of ‘Donkey for Sale’ and ‘Victorian Christmas Carols’ on Tuesday 18th December and Wednesday 19th December.

Both performances proved to be a hit with the audiences, with tickets in great demand.

‘Donkey for Sale’ followed the tale of ‘Alfie’, the donkey bought by Joseph to carry Mary on their journey to Bethlehem.

Primary 1-3 and our Pre-5 pupils entertained the audience with superb singing and dancing, telling the Christmas story in a unique and entertaining way.

Alfie met many interesting characters on his journey, including a group of shepherds, three kings and a choir of angels, not to mention the welcoming animals of the Bethlehem stable.

The finale saw the newborn baby Jesus surrounded by everyone in the stable.

Primary 4-7 entertained the audiences with a mixture of traditional and modern Christmas carols, as well as specially written Christmas poems and a number of instrumentalists.

Compared by Alexander, Primary 4-7 transported the audiences back to 1897, dressed as Victorians.

With a few ’community carols’ being sung along with the audience, the children sung more modern carols such as ’Calypso Carol’ and ’Jolly Old St. Nicholas’. Intermingled with a sprinkling of soloists on the clarinet and flute, the evening was brought to a close with a rousing version of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’.

After a Christmas address from the Rev. Fulcher, the PTA had their Christmas Raffle Draw.

We would like to thank everyone  who helped with costumes, practised words and who came along to support us.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

See you all in 2008!
